Working hard for SAN DIEGO COUNTY…

Tasha Boerner is a State Assemblymember, community leader, mother, and fourth-generation San Diego County resident.

Since her election to the State Assembly in 2018, Tasha has authored 32 bills which have become law, including historic legislation addressing the climate crisis and pollution, reducing the cost of living by addressing high utility rates, combating discrimination, expanding access to health care, and improving Californians’ quality of life.

Tasha was selected by Speaker Robert Rivas to chair the Assembly Communications and Conveyance Committee, and Select Committee on Sea Level Rise and the California Economy. She also serves on the following Assembly Committees: Higher Education; Public Employment & Retirement; Utilities & Energy; Water, Parks, & Wildlife; Select Committee on Asia/California Trade and Investment; Select Committee on Biotechnology and Medical Technology; Select Committee on Climate Innovation and Infrastructure; Select Committee on Ports and Goods Movement; Joint Committee on Fisheries and Aquaculture.

Prior to her election to the State Assembly, Tasha served on the Encinitas City Council. On the Council, she served on a number of local and regional boards and committees including San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) and the League of California Cities Housing, Community and Economic Development Policy Committee. Tasha was also a member of her local Planning Commission and a PTA leader.

Tasha’s professional experience in Marketing Communications focuses on tackling tough problems with strategic vision and pragmatic action for non-profits, small businesses, global Fortune 500 companies, and higher education institutions. She has consulted for a public-private partnership with the World Health Organization to eradicate neglected diseases in over 83 countries; supported capital campaigns to educate sustainable development entrepreneurs across Latin America; collaborated with international technology giants like Apple and Google for Deutsche Telekom; and led an international marketing team in the higher education sector.

Tasha earned a M.A. in International Studies from Claremont Graduate University Institute of Politics and Policy. Part of Tasha’s graduate work was done at Humboldt University of Berlin. She received her B.A. in Political Science in 1995 from the University of California, Berkeley, the #1 public university in the world. Go Bears!

Tasha is the proud mom of two wonderful teenagers.
